Different type of sanskars of different caste
In our Hindu Sanatan tradition, an individual performs sixteen Sanskars. Their names and details are as follows:
- Garbhadhaan: In Hinduism, Garbhadhan Sanskar is conducted to ensure the well-being of the parents’ descendants and to ensure a noble and intelligent child. The holy Runanubandhi Atma is prayed to, as is Saubhagyavati.
- Punsavan: This Sanskar is done while singing Vedic Mantras to help the baby develop physically and mentally in the mother’s womb. This Sanskar ensures a child’s health and intelligence.
- Simantonayan: As a baby develops physically and mentally in the mother’s womb, it absorbs the mother’s behavior, conduct, and thinking. It is ritual for the mother to be alert in her achar-vichar-shravan, etc.
- Jatkarma: After birth, the baby is freed from the Doshas of birth, the Dosha of lingering in the mother’s womb, and the Dosha of long life. Pooja is performed after Suraksha Kavach of Dev-Devi of Kul Parampara.
- NAMKARAN: The 11th day of a baby’s birth is Naamkaran. The kid is called after the Janmpatrika prepared by learned Brahmins.
- Nishkramana: Nishkraman means leave. When a child is four months old, he is taken out of the house and given Darshan of the Panchmahabhut — Pruthvi, Jal, Tej, Vayu, and Aakash.
- Annaprashan: On the seventh month of the child’s life, meals are provided as an auspicious indication, and Annapurna Devi poojan is conducted.
- Chaul: The child’s hair is plucked between the ages of one and five years using Mundan Sanskar, enhancing the child’s intellect and destroying pregnancy-related insects.
- Vidyarambh: This Sanskar initiates a youngster into formal schooling and performs Maa Sharda Devi poojan.
- Karnavedh: A child’s ears are pierced with a gold needle, allowing them to wear gold jewelry. Acupuncture also aids in the free flow of blood in the child’s brain, increasing memory power.
- Upnayan: This rite involves accepting a three-layered cotton thread called as Yagnopavit from Guru. A person who accepts and wears this Yagnopavit is known as Dwij – born again.
- Vedarambha: The child is also taught Vedic Gyan.
- KESHANI : Because Kaamdev is thought to reside in Kesh, the head is maintained clean shaved throughout Brahmcharyashram.
- Samavartan : This Sanskar is performed when the youngster returns from school.
- Vivah: The bride and groom take an oath and make a Sankalp to adhere to the Dharma assigned to them by this Lagna-Sanskar by performing Parikrama in front of Agnidev. And Pitru-run is gone.
- Antyesthi: After departing this human body, agni (fire) is brought from residence to crematorium and offered to fire. So Atma is free of all Runas (obligations).
